[What if industrial metal offcuts and scraps can be repurposed and upcycled through design? What if industrial machines that are designed to perform a standardized task can be misused?]
This lounge chair is made from repurposing of stainless steel pipe offcuts and aluminum scraps from AWAL, a refrigeration & air conditioning manufacturer based in Bahrain. Using the hydraulic press and aluminum smelting process, the metal scraps are assembled together through “squishing” and flattening at the joints.
