[Creative process as a continuous form with unexpected deadends and corners: casting maximum internal void with minimal external expression]
Personally, the creative process has always been filled with unexpected dead ends, corners, and detours. There is always an idea of “there” to begin with, yet the creative path takes me either to “nowhere” or a completely new “there”.
Within a 4” x 6” x10” (2:3:4) bounding box, a set of U-shaped base modules stack and interlock to create a continuous formwork. The two parting legs of the module sometimes touch another module or leads to a dead end. The order of assembly and disassembly of the parts before and after casting dictates the formwork’s structure as well as the ease of demolding.
