Leftovers

2019

SPRING 2019
[Making time and space for our leftover feelings in public through play and mess]

This participatory art project staged as an open soup kitchen invites people to note and share their fleeting, unclear, and messy feelings left behind from their everyday experiences with alphabet soup.

This project is inspired by Jason Lazarus’s “Too Hard To Keep (THTK)”, a collective archiving project of photos that senders find hard to keep. While the final product is a table of leftover plates with writings by 43 anonymous individuals, this intervention is about the dialogue that takes place before the table. Some choose to just read what others have left behind, some leave no words, and many choose to spend time meticulously curating their leftover thoughts.
